Cabin Expansion

Once a single level small cabin, is expanded and transformed by raising the roof and addition of a new second floor and a main floor entry porch and mudroom. The summer cabin needed to be expanded and redesigned to accommodate year around living.

The new design was to add additional bedrooms and bath and more sleeping/bunk area. This was achieved by addition of the second floor. The area above the living room remained open to connect the two floor and bring more light and sense of space to the entire interior of the cabin. A sleeping loft, two bedrooms and a bath was included in the second floor design. The main floor was reconfigured to accommodate ta space for the new stair to the upper floor. The addition of the new entry porch and entry mudroom, provide the sense of entry, shelter and much needed storage area.
